Roman Holiday

We returned to Italy for one more visit and found more to explore and wonder about in Naples. We were lucky to be there during the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and witnessed some truly memorable moments. Who knew that one could party into the wee hours of the morning and still get up before dawn to follow the statue of the Madonna to Mass. If you think the Harvest Festival in Winkler has fireworks, we witnessed the most amazing fireworks launched unexpectedly from the middle of our street. It was raining ash. We loved our day trip on the Amalfi Coast and were so glad we parked the car for the day and took the bus. If I thought Corsica had amazing windy roads with steep drop offs, Amalfi had it beat. This was a new corner of the world for us and there was so much to see and discover. Naples is never dull!

We were lucky to be able to spend the last part of our European trip in Rome with our good friends Jason and Michelle Shepherd and their children Ryanne and Colby. It was fun to explore a city that we knew through eyes that were seeing it for the first time. More importantly it was a wonderful time of reconnecting and enjoying each others' company away from our everyday life. What a great way to end another amazing travel experience!
